The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is one of four varieties of Griffons Vendeens. Petit Basset Griffons are the shortest of the French wire-coated hounds. They are said to be a descendent of the Basset Hound, but unlike the Basset Hound, this breed was developed to hunt on its own, and is less awkward in appearance.They are extroverts, like to play, and love to please and make good pets for families with young children.

Grooming: 

The coat of this dog is medium in length, rough, and harsh to the touch with a thick undercoat. The hair has natural water-repellent quality that allows it to dry quickly when wet. Little or no grooming is required on this dog. A Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is white with lemon, or orange, or grizzled, or tricolor.
