This giant breed is a descendent of the Roman Mastiffs dating back some 2000 years ago. In Italy they were used as war, police and sometime criminal dogs.This majestic breed is a good guard dog as its highly protective and loyal to its owners. They are said to be very loving and affectionate with their immediate family but weary of all strangers. They require daily exercise to keep them in top form.Clubs: http://www.mastiff.org.au/
